Exactly what we would expect this beautiful man to be like, but nice to hear it confirmed. I would LOVE for him to do another scifi show or movie...my favorite genre, my favorite actor, my favorite hero. Maybe we should all be writing scipts instead of fanfic!!!!
I remember reading that he wasn't a scifi fan before Atlantis but that he was now. I think I read somewhere that after Atlantis was canceled (hurts to write that) he mentioned he would love to do more scifi. What a cool guy! You are so right..."Just -- love this guy!"
Beautiful studies by candlelight ... Like the profile shot from "Search and Rescue" that I have on my laptop ... at home. Otherwise I'd post it. Oh, well. Candlelight and Joe what a gorgeous combination!
D'awwww! That expression would also make this shot good for the face of joe community, it's so adorkably sweet. It's amazing how one minute he can look like a friendly dork of a guy and the next, like a dangerous man you wouldn't mess with.
Heck, yes! His whole body language screams tension to me. Probably nerves and I'm sure he relaxed later on, but I'd bet this was early on in proceedings.
What a weird camera angle to use here, though! Joe is arguably one of the most photogenic people I've every seen (well, at least when not consciously being posed for a shot) and this doesn't do him justice at all.
Would have loved to sit in on that interview though!
Although that smirk makes me think he's about to burst into laughter. As for the pose, he's got green screen behind him and this looks like it was just a test shot. Which I can understand as the artist wouldn't want the actual photos for the piece released yet. As unflattering as it may be, I'll take that over nothing any day!
It brings back memories from countless failed school photos. I learned the hard way to be careful about the way I sat when I happened to be in the front. ;)
Yeah, but you'd think a pro would know better! I loathe having my picture taken and think most of them are horrible but I suspect that's because I hate having my delusion that I really look like Angelina Jolie (as Lara Croft) shattered by reality. :-)
I don't know what this guy is capable of, but I always assumed that the picture was just a snapshot. It seriously looks like something I'd take with my camera.
Any time I have to pose for a picture, I end up looking either like a deer caught in the headlights (unsure smile, eyes telegraphing my discomfort) or like a stern librarian. :/
You are most certainly right, and I shouldn't have been critical of what was probably a test shot. When I pose for a picture, I'm either grimacing at being caught on camera or I come off looking like Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter movies. Before Emma Watson grew up and, you know, got hot.
I think that Firrell posted that pic just to tease us... all the other photos will surely be just wonderful, artistic and perfectly showing all the beauty that Joe is!
Well, I asked my hubby. Here's what he said:
"Not Flanigan again...oh, please.... Ok, this photo was taken by somebody sitting in front of him, close, and it's not a photo to be used for anything else but a sample to determine things like white balance, contrast, light intnsity, etc. Probably done also to show that Flanigan was in that studio. He looks kind of spooked because the flash went straight into his eyes. Every photographer starts with something like that."
I love the quote. I bet the interview was fascinating but the picture - I have to be honest, no I don't like that at all, it seems such a very unflattering angle to me at least.

Have you read this conversation with Firrell where he talks about: "some beautiful studies by candlelight of Joe's face"? :)

I'm almost tempted to ask what his skincare routine is (sadly I'm guessing the answer is nothing).

(I like Joe Flanigan better when he's a little rough looking and more relaxed.)
