This original screenshot is dark. Lightening it betrays Sheppard just a bit. Hats off to Joe for his ability to convey those subtleties - they defined John Sheppard as much as any backstory.

As promised! :)

Sheppard solo shots today. Lots of intense yummy-ness. This was definitely an episode that played to Joe's strong non verbal acting skills.

Enjoy!

FINALLY finished these! They've been on my desktop forever. LOL

Part 1 today: Sheppard and other Characters. The stuff with Rodney on the pier? Yeah. Still makes me teary-eyed.

Stay tuned tomorrow for the Sheppard solo shots. :)

Enjoy!

I remember when details of this episode were leaked and how we anticipated the airing... miss those Friday nights so much.

Another behind the scenes shot from The Shrine - this time with the big guy himself. Say what you like about Brad Wright (and we all have, haven't we), he certainly hit a high water mark with this script. And that elevation permeated throughout the entire production - the crew, the effects, the acting.

A little bird got me thinking about The Shrine...

No wonder the guy like to surf, fly, shoot guns... he needs something to help lighten the weight on those shoulders.

So much to love in this poignant episode. Everyone punched it up a notch, including the writers. The brain and deck thing will stick with me always. ;D

Sheppard's lips drawn into a tight, thin line... one of his biggest "tells." The way Joe used that expression, with all its subtle complexity, it could mean anything from worry and concern to "oh, crap!" to surreptitiously scouting the quickest and cleanest exit route. Like all of Sheppard's expressions, it is a joy to behold.
