He does "Whoa" so well. There is a moment in Midway where he skids into a corridor with dead wraith that is just perfect.

Love the pic ... sigh. He looks so slim in those black BDUs.

I love that scene. I find myself rewinding it over and over just for the look on his face.

Oh yeah. That one too. Yum.

Oh, *yeah*.

Now *that's* what I'm talkin' about!

It's actually a beautiful photo. Joe is one of the most expressive actors ever.

One of my favorites!

Whoa, that, like, blew my mind, dude

[identity profile] teenygozer.livejournal.com 2010-02-24 04:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Who knew that clicking your heels together three times and saying, "There's no place like home," would work?

[identity profile] gaffsie.livejournal.com 2010-02-24 05:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Aww, he looks so young and open there. A side of him we really didn't get to see much of during season 4 and 5.

Season 4 Sheppard was angsty, and season 5 Sheppard just about broke my heart. So weighted down with guilt, responsibility and worry...

[identity profile] stella-pegasi.livejournal.com 2010-02-24 05:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Looks very vulnerable...

Tavabean spoke about how expressive he is. Watch Remnants again and just follow his eyes during the scene with Kolya, when they had him on his knees with his arms extended. I have never seen an actor portray fear as well as he did and he did it using only the expression in his eyes. I believe JF is a very unrated actor. But he's ours...

[identity profile] duemidnight.livejournal.com 2010-02-25 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, to all of the above. But that scene in Remnants - I think I've watched that more times than any other. He was awesome in that one. And on in his knees in front of Kolya didn't hurt either... ;)

[identity profile] stella-pegasi.livejournal.com 2010-02-25 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
I know...that scene just..wow...and as for Vegas, I adored him in that, so understated even with the little dialog, he didn't need it to convey the story. I really miss Atlantis...going to wear these DVD's out.

[identity profile] stella-pegasi.livejournal.com 2010-02-25 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
I am replying to my own thread to correct a stupid typo...JF is a very underrated actor...duh. Well, he's certainly not unrated...I'll be more than happty to give him a rating...

[identity profile] gyri.livejournal.com 2010-02-25 02:08 am (UTC)(link)
I'll be more than happty to give him a rating...
Hahaha! You and me both.

Oh I do like the Last Man - most of the dialogue in this episode was not that good, but the acting from both Joe and David was wonderful.

[identity profile] gyri.livejournal.com 2010-02-24 11:18 pm (UTC)(link)
I just watched Trinity again last night, Joe's and David's scenes together were absolutely dynamite. Their emotions were so intense and they played off each other spectacularly.

It does....and Joe's expressions are just amazing in it

[identity profile] gyri.livejournal.com 2010-02-25 02:08 am (UTC)(link)
Now I have to go watch The Last Man again!

[identity profile] tashirasbubble.livejournal.com 2010-02-25 12:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Sorry about that.....but try it like I did one day...turn off the volume and just watch Joe's acting...his expressions and body launguage are superb.... Enjoy :)

Indeed WOAH! *happy sigh*

[identity profile] gyri.livejournal.com 2010-02-24 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Whoa, yes! Hot stuff comin' this way!

I agree with many of the comments above---how expressive he is, how open and vulnerable his face is. He's got a great ability to be hilariously over-the-top but can also intensely underplay a scene, doing a lot with very little---as stella_pegasi said above, how well he expressed the fear and horror of what was to come in his eyes.

That's our Joe!

Me too. *double sigh*

[identity profile] ninja007.livejournal.com 2010-02-25 06:45 am (UTC)(link)
Joe looks terrific in that episode, but the reason I love it, is when he comes through and tells Rodney he's a genius, Rodney is so nonplussed...

Rodney seems to be always surprised when someone tells him he's a genius...it's like he feels he has to prove it over and over or continue to tell people so they believe it. Funny... just an observation...

Sheppard fan here...

Basic black never goes out of style. And the black bandanna inspired a lot of Outlaw!John thoughts. ;)
