Tavabean spoke about how expressive he is. Watch Remnants again and just follow his eyes during the scene with Kolya, when they had him on his knees with his arms extended. I have never seen an actor portray fear as well as he did and he did it using only the expression in his eyes. I believe JF is a very unrated actor. But he's ours...
Yes, to all of the above. But that scene in Remnants - I think I've watched that more times than any other. He was awesome in that one. And on in his knees in front of Kolya didn't hurt either... ;)
I know...that scene just..wow...and as for Vegas, I adored him in that, so understated even with the little dialog, he didn't need it to convey the story. I really miss Atlantis...going to wear these DVD's out.
I am replying to my own thread to correct a stupid typo...JF is a very underrated actor...duh. Well, he's certainly not unrated...I'll be more than happty to give him a rating...
I just watched Trinity again last night, Joe's and David's scenes together were absolutely dynamite. Their emotions were so intense and they played off each other spectacularly.
Sorry about that.....but try it like I did one day...turn off the volume and just watch Joe's acting...his expressions and body launguage are superb.... Enjoy :)
I agree with many of the comments above---how expressive he is, how open and vulnerable his face is. He's got a great ability to be hilariously over-the-top but can also intensely underplay a scene, doing a lot with very little---as stella_pegasi said above, how well he expressed the fear and horror of what was to come in his eyes.
Joe looks terrific in that episode, but the reason I love it, is when he comes through and tells Rodney he's a genius, Rodney is so nonplussed...
Rodney seems to be always surprised when someone tells him he's a genius...it's like he feels he has to prove it over and over or continue to tell people so they believe it. Funny... just an observation...

Love the pic ... sigh. He looks so slim in those black BDUs.
