I highly recommend all of the Retrograde stories, too. You probably already found the line by now, but it's in the conclusion (http://www.ltljverse.com/watergate/stories/recovery3.htm) of Recovery (http://www.ltljverse.com/watergate/stories/recovery.htm).
From Rodney's POV: "[Sheppard's] eyes were intent and very green and flat, like they got when he had been killing people who were too stupid to run away when they had the chance."
I've read them all...I just didn't equate the series name with the stories (buh-der!). I spent a couple (three) hours "just reading one more short one" before I finally sent myself to bed at 5am. :g:
Thanks for letting me know which story it's in. I'll probably re-read the whole series in the next couple of weeks or so. (That's how it works - my brain gets a phrase or action caught in it, and the next thing you know, I'm re-reading epic series instead of finding entries for the AU list. :bg:)
Glad it was helpful! I'm still new-ish to SGA fic and I was surprised I'd recognized the phrase. Turns out it was because I'd podficced Recovery about two months ago. *facepalm*
The Giant AU List is awesome, thanks for compiling that!
Hah! Don't you love that? I think the problem is that there's so much awesome SGA fic out there that it sometimes blurs together...especially when you read as much of it as I do.
If you're new-ish, have you found the wonder that is sheafrotherdon's A Farm in Iowa series yet? Here's the chronological list. Run, don't walk, to read it. (My icon is how Iowa!John looks in my mind.)
Thanks! I'm actually working on it today. I'm trolling around mcshep_match for new additions. Translation: I'm reading fic again. :g:
