As Joe announced in Brisbane, he had just completed filming on TNT's The Closer spin-off, Major Crimes. Joe's episode (don't know if it's only one epi or more) is set to air December 9th!! Many thanks to The Joe Flanigan Fan for the info. There's also a small snippet of the episode there, where Joe appears (in photo form) on the case board. Here's a snap - unfortunately with the logo situated very conspicuously...

I don't adore Major Crimes to the same extent that I did The Closer, but it is gritty, solid television. I'm so pleased to see that Joe will be in a show I already like and watch!

We need Joe in a weekly television show again. Need. Him.

I love Mary McDonnell (actually, you've always reminded me a lot of her) and had every intention of watching this when it started, but you know what they say about good intentions... I will watch for Joe, though, of course. I just pray it isn't a Fringe fiver!

I saw MM at Galacticon and she is *tiny*. It always surprises me when you meet someone up close like that--you just don't get that impression on TV.

I suspect it will be like the ep of CSI Miami--one can hope at any rate!

I've been watching the first season of Major Crimes and I'm enjoying it. Only wish Joe's character was recurring, but this will be better than nothing.

I don't watch the show, but I'll always support Joe's projects. It is, as you say, better than nothing - though I do hope it's more than five minutes on screen. And we don't have to wait that long!

I'm excited about seeing Joe on TV again but hoping that it won't be the five minute tease we got with Fringe! That would be so disappointing. Need more Joe!!

I agree! With him appearing to be one of the suspects, I'm hoping for a bit more than a tease. ;D

Loved The Closer, and love Major Crimes... and as much as I don't want to see him the villain, if he is... he'll be in the show more. Agree... no more Fringe-like appearances.

Thanks for the pic... looking forward to seeing him and yes... he needs a good series...detective or sci-fi or both!

TV producers don't seem to understand the concept of built-in fan base. The numbers on a show always jump when Joe is a guest. Of course, I know he's picky about projects because of scheduling and being away from his family, but you'd think some of those 'powers that be' guys would get a clue. And it's not just the fans... Joe is a fantastic TV actor.

I adore Major Crimes and have been marathoning it with episodes stacked up on my Tivo. Having Joe on the show is like a birthday prezzie to me!

Hilariously, there's a kid on the show who reminds me of a little baby David Hewlitt. If they'd ever needed a mini-me clone of McKay (like the time they did the episode with a young clone of O'Neill), this kid could play the part beautifully.
