I want to thank [livejournal.com profile] tex for providing the daily Joe while I was gone. I was able to catch a few posts but my laptop was usually otherwise engaged... so I thought I'd post caps from the episodes of SGA we screened at Squee Weekend. First up...

hmmm, I wouldn't call Kolya eveeil in The Storm/Eye, just an opportunistic hardcase with a low standard of morals. He saw the Lanteans as Other, and so he could just take whatever he wanted/kill to get their stuff. A disappointing portrayal considering the ritualistic opening with Sora.

Yis! I was watching my nephew in the soccer playoffs and it was raining and I'm sure all the adults were thinking, as the game went into double-overtime, just score already so we can get out of the rain! haha. but it went to penalty kicks. (his team won btw, so they're still in.)

Right, the natural conclusion (I think Elizabeth tried some hopeless diplomacy but it was obvious they wouldn't see how joining purposes would benefit everyone.)

But what I found disappointing was it was obvious from the opening ritualized practice session the Genii have a long tradition in martial arts discipline and I was hoping for a more layered culture than that, something that recognized the honor of their enemies and Rules of Engagement. Sora seemed to get that where Kolya did not.
