Okay wait. I'm back again. I finally figured out what's bugging me the most about this photo, and some of the others I've seen from the same shoot. Well, there are lots of things that feel 'off,' but...
They got rid of all of the delicious little crinkles around his eyes! Come ON! I LOVE those! In fact, they got rid of ALL of the lovely sun-baked imperfections in his skin. Seriously, if I wanted to stare at some smooth-skinned teenager I'd be on a different comm. I like older Joe for a reason!
I was lucky enough to sit at a table with Joe for way over the hour alloted at a Meet 'n Greet in Vancouver 'cause he wanted to keep talking about his kids! In person and (as far as I could tell) no makeup, he has smile/laugh/sun lines. Like anyone else, he has some imperfections in skin tone, etc. He's over forty and I doubt seriously that it bothers him. My God, the man is in great shape too. He also gives great hugs!!!

Photoshop disasters aside, as much as I adore the BToY with the grey BDU pants, this black-on-black look always causes me a serious crisis.

Anyway. End of rant. Thanks for indulging me.

How gorgeous...
I love that he's such a great dad and from what I've been able to see, a good husband. That makes a man awesome in my book.
