I actually watched this a couple of days ago! I really love Synn, and I hope he was reunited with Columbine at the end. ;)

I watched it again over the weekend! You know, Dr. Fast's decision was a gutsy one. And I sort of wanted to rewrite that part where she ask about him quoting Tennyson:

Synn: No, mine is to follow protocol.

Fast: (incredulous look, or status quo 'til then) You have a protocol for... this!

And really, she was doing the same thing, only asking why with a high probability of doing and dying. Though I would have really liked for her reaction (upon her realization) to have been along the lines of "son of a bitch..."

I was seriously devastated when he reaches for that bottle in the opening sequence
So many careers ruined in military because of booze
And speaking of booze, one of my more strange collateral duties at
Miramar featured inventory of booze at
package store, ie liquor shop, at the officers' club..............

It sort of fit with his character's career being sidelined because of the incident in his past and his counting his days and doing his time. It played as a bit lighthearted with the "emergency use only" designation, but I can imagine it is a real problem for some.

It sure is a problem..................
I don't know what life is like now but when I was on active duty there was
a lot of drinking............o club was a main gathering spot
We had officers who ended up on SOQ, sick officers quarters,
for dry out...................
I was on an SOQ for a herniated disc problem once and a corpsman told me that one of the officers was there for third time..........I heard his screaming and the corpsman was assuring the other patients all was okay..........
Sad because it is not only a killer in a personal sense but career wise.

I don't know how much screen time he'll have, but Joe is a guest star on the season opening ep of Fringe. And he's in Europe right now (why he had to cancel Dragon Con) filming a movie with . . . wait for it . . . Jean Claude Van Damme. Now that will be a weird movie. His part is the father of a child who is kidnapped and he hired JCVD to get her back. He thought he might not be able to do it because of his shoulder, but apparently it's okay now.

Yeah, not that he's really shy in the movie, I was just looking for a "different" shot and picked one of the few times he smiled. As has been said... he is definitely HOT in the movie. I hope you get a chance to see it soon. But as rubygirl29 said, SyFy hacked it up to where the most self-deprecating humor is gone. I think that was the one thing most of the actors liked about the script, that they got to make fun of themselves in a cheeky way.

Synn works for me, too! Love that shy smile. The movie? Not so much. Joe said SyFy took out the campy bits that made it fun and turned it into their weekly Creature Feature.

Synn really does work. I think the humor was the one thing most of the actors liked about the film... just goes to show that there's no dearth of stupidity at SyFy. This could have been so much better than a creature feature.

I have this on my media center PC - fun little sci-fi romp, complete with the Flan. Yes, it was SyFy - but Joe made up for it.
