I kept looking at the caps, trying to figure out what was different and why Joe looked so young. Then I realized he was freshly shaven .... which made me want to bury my nose in that little angle at his jaw. MMMM.
I like the expression on his face. ♥ And he really looks so much younger in this picture.A bit like a naughty boy. Not, that I have anything against some naughty-ness. *g*
He looks so much younger and so well rested, as you said. And that blue plaid shirt must be a long time favorite because there it is again. I think the man owns all of four shirts!
That sounds like my brother. He goes in to Farm and Fleet, picks out four or five different shirts, and buys ten of each one. His wife despairs of him. If we didn't buy him oddball t-shirts every now and then, and a few dress shirts, he'd look like he never does laundry. My dad does the same thing with socks: buy twenty identical pairs so he never has to worry about matching them.
I've seen photos of Joe in that blue plaid shirt all the way back to 2005. It's definitely his. The red plaid actually showed up in "The Shrine." The white one shows up occasionally as well. As for the t-shirts, I don't know. They could be his or they could be part of his wardrobe for the film. All I know is he looks damned good in them!
It really makes you wonder what kind of toll all that traveling back and forth from Van to CA took on him all those years. He definitely looks fantastic! I think that's my favorite pic in the bunch. Not that they're not all gorgeous!
He looks amazingly well in this interview! Adorable and almost boyish on one hand and very manly and sexy on the other. I don't know any other man that is able to combine such divergency into a perfect mix :)
He's clean shaven and a friend noticed that his hair most probably got coloured to get rid of the grey - so that could have made him look SO much younger as well.
I snagged the vid from youtube & converted it to an .avi. It's at my journal if anyone wants to download it (to keep forever. *g*) http://bluespirit-star.livejournal.com/532782.html

You know, his wife IS a painter, so no one would notice an extra canvas at home...

I have to say, the first time I had my hair dyed, I dropped 15 years.

If you click on the pick from here which was taken on the set, you can see his crow's feet, etc.
