Oh I loved Joe's portrayal of Lionel! Especially after hearing he played him more compassionately and sympathetically than Ms. Steele depicted the character in the book. Of course that may very well have been the director's/producer's choice, but there's no denying Joe brought a rare sweetness and sincerity to the role. I loved what a gentle soul he was.
