Of course a few years later they acceded to his school-marmish wishes and had them jump-starting Sheppard's heart via his belly in "Doppleganger." BECAUSE HE DIDN'T WANNA TAKE HIS TOP OFF. So very sad. And mean to us.

Hm... perhaps they didn't actually try to jump-start his heart but only casting out the crystal-creature 'cause it was vulnerable to electric shock and applying the pads where they actually should go in case of really jump-starting one's heart would have possibly killed John? I know, lame excuse but the only one I can come up with. *g*
