I love this particular clip from S5...Joe is very candid about his relationships with his coworkers (especially Jason and David). The one main regret I have about SGA ending is that we never see John being made a full Colonel. If the SGA movie ever gets made, that's one scene I'd love to see.
At that point, he's talking about the other cast members and right about here is where he mentions he and Jason rooming together, being bored when Jason was gone, and "trouble" following them if they went anywhere together. It was a great little interview.
I agree, he should have been a full colonel by season 5...I tend to write most of my SGA fic after Season 5 and I promoted him...TPTB can't get one over on fanfic!
Things like this make me wish there had been more actor commentaries on the DVDs. TPTB really ruined it when they started doing the commentaries themselves. I can only listen to Brad et al for so long before automatically tuning them out...
I really like how Joe is open with his feelings about friends and family. You just know there's not a lot of pretense there.
With everything that happened in S5, Sheppard certainly deserved that honor. I'd like to think that the movie would have accomplished that, finally, but I don't trust Mallozzi as far as I could throw him.
Although it sucks donkey balls we had to wait till S5 to get any sort of feature with him
Agreed. I wonder if it was more Joe's schedule at first, and I like to think he did it for S5 to piss off Mallozzi. There's a part in the interview where it sounds like it might have been shot after they got the word of the cancellation. Of course, Joe F was already in M's dog house by then.
Martin Wood was the only person outside the actors themselves I could stand to listen to on the commentaries. Gero was like fingers on a chalkboard and some of the other directors would have me snoozing in minutes. Could not stand to listen to BW. Needless to say, I've not watched any of the commentary eps for S5, but I could go back and listen to the ones Joe and David did over and over.

I guess that is why I replied the way I did..........
***sighs***
A bit of Sheppard always brightens the moment
