Silent Men is a Canadian Indie film made in 2004/2005, so Joe was already filming Atlantis as well. Joe's character is Regis, one man vying to be the father/partner (platonic) of a woman who wants to have a child, but can't find the one man who "speaks to her" for the relationship part of the equation. The film also features Joe's wife as one of the main character's BFFs. The website for the film company is here. From what I've gathered, the film was set for a November 2008 release, but that never happened. I realize there are tons of considerations that go into the release of a film, especially an independent film, but I'd really like to see the company put this out there.
